Musical Theater Wedding Ideas!

If you're looking for a unique and grand wedding theme, look no further than Epic the Musical. Based on the classic epic poems of Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, this musical is an amalgamation of history, mythology, music, and drama. Epic the Musical is a perfect theme for couples who love grandeur and storytelling. Here are some ideas to incorporate Epic the Musical into your wedding theme.

  1. Venue

Choose a venue that has a large space and a vintage vibe. A ballroom or a palace would be ideal. Decorate the venue with marble columns, urns, and statues to give it a Greek or Roman feel. In this case we used The Apollo on Emma in Springdale, Arkansas. It is complete with a ball room, a grand bar area, and the statue of Apollo himself!

2. Attire

The bride can wear a white Grecian-inspired dress with golden accessories and a long flowing cape. The bride selected the dress from She said Yes Bridal in Rogers, Arkansas.  The groom can wear a tunic with a matching waistcoat and trousers. The bridesmaids and groomsmen can also wear outfits inspired by ancient Greek or Roman attire.

3. Invitations

Design your invitations in the style of an ancient scroll with gold and red accents. You can also add images of famous Greek or Roman gods like Zeus, Poseidon, or Apollo. You can add arrow accents!

4. Music

Epic the Musical has a lot of musical numbers that you can incorporate into your wedding. Hire a live orchestra to play pieces from the musical during the ceremony and reception.

5. Food

Serve Greek and Roman inspired food like olives, figs, grapes, and cheese platters. For the main course, serve lamb or beef skewers with tzatziki sauce. For dessert, serve baklava or honey cakes or in this case we served ice-cream from Marshae’s Icecream!

6. Decorations and Florals

Use ancient Greek or Roman pottery and urns as centerpieces or mix and match dinnerware like we did from Pretty Old Stuff NWA. You can also add elements like swords, shields, and helmets as decorative pieces. For lighting, use candles to create a warm and romantic atmosphere.

For the florals use vines and olive branches on the table scapes and bouquet. Our recommendation for Northwest Arkansas Florist is Renaissance Floral.

7. Photography

Take photos of the bride and groom in ancient Greek or Roman poses with props like a shield, sword, or harp. You can also take photos with a backdrop of famous ancient monuments like the Colosseum or the Parthenon.

In conclusion, Epic the Musical is a unique and grand theme for your wedding. It allows you to incorporate elements of history, mythology, and music into your special day. With a little creativity and imagination, you can create a wedding that will be remembered by your guests for years to come.
